FILM FESTIVALS SEEK “THE IMPOSSIBLE SPY” (ELIE COHEN) FOR ISRAEL’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY:
Because of the upcoming 60th Anniversary of the State Of Israel in 2008, “The Impossible Spy”, the true-story movie about Israel’s National Hero, Elie Cohen, starring John Shea and Eli Wallach, is now being considered by some 15 Jewish Film Festivals.
The growing interest in “The Impossible Spy” began last December when it was selected for the Palm Beach JFF, became an S.R.O. hit, and was invited back for their Encore Film Series. Additional JFFs (and other venues) have included those in Rockland County (NY) and a recent JFF in N.E. Pennsylvania where “The Impossible Spy” won the Audience Award for Best Picture. In addition to Jewish Film Festivals in 2008, the film has been set for January 31 as a fund-raiser for ORT America in Boynton Beach, Florida.
When he is available, “The Impossible Spy” Executive Producer, Harvey Chertok has personally introduced his film at Jewish Film Festivals and other special events, and also hosted post-screening discussions.
Further to various Awards, “The Impossible Spy” has been critically acclaimed with such reviews as: “A marvelous film told in the grand tradition of a John LeCarre novel. This is a top-notch thriller made all the more so by its factual basis.” --Chicago Sun-Times
“A portrait of spies and spying that is as chilling as it is compelling.” --The New York Times
“Not every true story makes a movie as riveting as this one.” --The Wall Street Journal

Anindita, I've forwarded your question to Harvey Chertok, producer of the film. I suspect you can go to his website and order a copy directly from him. I know he'll be delighted by your interest. Let me know how it goes!

what is his webpage URL???
The Impossible Spy is listed for purchase through both Amazon and Turner Classic Movies. You can contact the producer to buy directly from him, if you like—

In fact, there are a number of places to order the film from—do try to get the “Special Edition” which has things on it not on the old release.

I have tried so many times but Amazon don't allow any purchases from India!!
Hmm, not sure what to say. I'm guessing Amazon would find the shipping costs too high to work with. Having no idea what this might be, you might write the producer (you already have his address) and tell him you'll pay the shipping--and tell him what it is. Other than that, I have no idea what to say. Good luck! | |
