Edgar Winter, David Freiberg, Linda Imperial, and Maverick headline the next DAVE WHITE PRESENTS!

In 1970, Texas rocker Edgar Winter’s debut album, ENTRANCE, took the music world by storm. Then, after two successful albums with White Trash, The Edgar Winter Group topped the charts with monster hits like “Frankenstein” and Free Ride.” Edgar has been rocking the planet ever since. In 2012, for example, Edgar will be touring the U.S. in the Rock and Blues Fest along with his brother Johnny, Rick Derringer, Mountain’s Leslie West, and Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown.

On Tuesday, July 31, Edgar Winter joins Wes Britton on online radio’s DAVE WHITE PRESENTS to talk about a lifetime of music from his formative years in Beaumont, Texas to the creation of his most famous bands to what will be happening in the Rock and Blues fest. Expect the unexpected—including a very rare treat from songwriter Dan Hartman’s first band, The Legends, that led to Edgar hiring the composer of “Free Ride.”
We go behind the scenes with Edgar in the studio and tell you how songs like “Frankenstein” came to be . . .

Back in the ‘60s, David Freiberg was a founding member of Quicksilver Messenger Service before signing up with Jefferson Airplane and then Jefferson Starship. These days, he’s also heavily involved in his wife’s new group, The Linda Imperial Band. That’s also the name of Linda’s hot new album which also features guitarist Peter Harris (The Jerry Garcia Band) and keyboardist David Kaffinetti, better known as Viv Savage from Spinal Tap. The rhythm section includes Drummer Doug Freedman (Iron Butterfly) and Steve Valverde on bass.

For our next blockbuster broadcast, DAVE WHITE PRESENTS is delighted to offer a co-interview with both David and Linda. We’ll also play you two tracks that, we promise, will take you back to the ‘60s San Francisco sound. Think Quicksilver with a ballsy, bluesy lady singer . . .

Of course, DWP always puts the capital V in Variety, and the next show is no exception! This time around, Dave White reunites with an old colleague, TV CONFIDENTIAL host Ed Robertson. Ed has just published MAVERICK: LEGEND OF THE WEST so you know who we’ll be discussing—James Garner, Jack Kelley, Roger Moore . . .
